The Air Jordan 2's (like the Air Jordan 1's) also feature the wingman logo. However this time it is featured on the tongue of the shoe. Michael's career was doing better then ever, he was averaging 37.1 points per game and had numerous accalades from his previous season including winniing Rookie of the Year award beating both Hakeem Olijuwan and Sam Bowie.
But everything came to a screetching halt when Michael Jordan broke his left foot during the third game of the season against Golden State Warriors. Some people said it was because he landed awkwardly after dunking the ball and the shoes, Air Jordan 2's, did not offer adequate support. Normally there wouldnt be much credibility for a claim like that, but these shoes were special. The Air Jordan 2's were made in Italy by a fashion designer, made to appealing to the masses. Although it's never been confirmed and just a conspiracy, these shoes probably aren't that great for performance.
When the Air Jordan 2's hit the market, they didnt sell too well. They were the first shoe of the year to have a triple-digit price tag ($100) and the stock market had crashed that year. The retro version in 1995 didn't sell too well either. However they were re-retro'd in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The later retros did well in the stores and were released in 10 different colorways making for a total of 16 different official releases of the Air Jordan 2's between colorways and high/low top versions.
