Nike released the Air Jordan 22 in time for Michael Jordan's birthday. Designed once again by D'Wayne Edwards, the Jordan XXII is inspired from the F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet. Sleek and technologically advanced, Nike outdid itself with the Jordan 22.

The key factors considered by Michael Jordan and D'Wayne Edwards for the design of the Air Jordan XXII were innovation, fit, cushioning and protection. They were able to fit all these into the Jordan 22 with the enhanced IPS or Independent Podular System. With the option to choose between Encapsulated Air and Zoom Air, the design of the Air Jordan 22 is truly remarkable.

The Phylon midsole is another great add-on as it provided further protection. The Titanium shank plate provides stability that players need for oncourt performance.

With Air Vents, heat is easily dissipated providing for a more comfortable fit. Combining Titanium lace loops with highly durable lace locks; the lacing feature of the Jordan XXII has made it stand out from the previous Jordan sneakers.

Other Noticable Features of the Jordan 22 Sneakers are:

·         Pods positioned strategically offer protection.

·         Zigzag stitching which simulated the patter of the F-22 Raptor’s flight.
