Chicago Bulls

Michael Jordan joined the Chicago Bulls team in the summer of 1984 through a simply twist of fate. Jordan was not the top pick of the NBA draft, he was only the third. And since the Rocket and Blazers beat the Bulls to the top 2, they ended up getting Michael. Little did they know at that time how much of an impact this will have on their team’s fortunes.

Ever since the first season of Michael Jordan, he was already an extraordinary basketball player earning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. On his second season, despite recovering from a broken foot, Michael recorded a playoff single-game record of 63 points. Because of this, Larry Bird, his fellow basketball superstar, called him “God disguised as Michael Jordan”.

He built his image as the “Legend” playing with the Bulls, leading them to playoffs and championships. Michael acquired countless records and awards including NBA Most Valuable Player several times, Defensive Player of the Year, and his phenomenal scoring and defense records during his time with the Bulls.

Michael Jordan spent the best years of his basketball career with the Bulls leading them to heights they never reached before. Unfortunately, this had to end in 1993 when Jordan announced his first retirement after the death of his father.

Michael Jordan’s two year absence from the Bulls gave a tremendous impact to their performance, and their champion status became merely a shadow of the past.
In 1995, Bulls’ luck changed when Jordan decided to return! This resulted to a fourth championship in the 1995-1996 season for the Bulls. He continued his legendary performance within the team until his second and final retirement from the team on January 13, 1999 after a great season.
