Air Jordan 7 (VII)

1991-1992 Air Jordan VII 7 – The very colorful Air Jordan 7’s were worn by Michael Jordan as he and the Chicago Bulls defended their title for the first time. The Air Jordan 7’s featured a very colorful tongue and sole, that was inspired by a piece of art displayed at a festival that the head designer (Tinker Hatfield) attended. The shoes look like some abstract Picasso’ish painting, both the tongue and sole have very vibrant patches of neon colors. On the side of the heel, near the very top, there is the classic Jumpman logo prominently displayed.
The Chicago Bulls faced Portland Blazers in the finals this time around, and to the disappointment of many fans, it didn’t turn out to be the classic battle that was anticipated. The Portland Blazers were outplayed, out-smarted and out-done in every other facet of the game. One defining moment of the series was when Michael Jordan got two points off a nice basket, then as the Portland Trail Blazers inbounded the ball, Jordan snuck up behind the unsuspecting players, stole the ball and laid it in for an addition two points. It was that type of energy and hustle that gained the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan their 2nd NBA Championship.
This time around, the Air Jordans were promoted in a commercial featuring Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson. It was a classic commercial that showcased Michael Jordan’s supernatural abilities and physic when being compared to a normal (in stature) human being, Michael Jackson. Jackson also attempted to teach Jordan how to do the Moon Walk in this commercial.
The Air Jordan 7’s were released in 1992, and then retro’d in 2002 and 2004.
