Air Jordan 21 (XXI)

D’wayne Edwards is the man behind the design of the Air Jordan 21. The Bentley Continental GT Coupe’s inspired Edwards to create a shoe, that actually looks like the front grill of this magnificent car. Much like the previous Jordan Shoes, the AJ XXI is built not only with the past innovations, but with new technology that Nike has been known to produce for its Jordan Series. Amongst all the shoes, the Jordan 21 is the hottest sneakers of the Jordan Brand.

Upper: Made with rich grain leather and Italian suede, the upper is the most striking feature of the Jordan 21. Constructed to provide ankle support, the heel counter is extended while the forefoot is made with a new kind of textile that is both durable and breathable. The mesh on the tongue dissipates heats and is also adjustable. By flipping the tongue upwards, you get a peek of the breathable technology Nike has incorporated into the design of the Air Jordan 21. By flipping the tongue down, the Jordan XXI is given a more sophisticated look.

Mid sole: Compacted with Phylon, which are actually compressed foam pellets, provide a low profile posture for the Air Jordan XXI. IPS or Independent Podular Suspension for the AJ 21 now comprises of exchangeable cushion technology. The Heel can be customized and is made up of a Carbon fiber plate for that much needed arch support.

Outsole: IPS is also integrated into the outsole, with raised herringbone pods for superior on-court performance. Aside from that, a new innovation in the outsole provides a multi-directional traction.

Michael Jordan specifically asked that the Jordan 21 be designed simply. Compared to the other more noticeable pattern of the previous Jordan Shoes, the Air Jordan XXI is what His Airness himself calls the ultimate basketball shoes.
